Lyle Griffin, President. With more than 25 years experience in software product development, Mr. Griffin has held leadership positions in a variety of early-stage technology ventures. As lead developer and later Vice President of Software Development for Micrografx, Mr. Griffin was instrumental in developing several of the first retail software products for Microsoft Windows and was recognized in 1994 by Microsoft founder Bill Gates as a Windows Pioneer. Mr. Griffin first worked on utilizing the Internet for the marketing of financial services as CTO of Lifeweb, leading a team developing a web-based agency management system. Later, as Director of Software Development for SelectQuote, one of the largest marketers of individual term life insurance in the U. S., Mr. Griffin led the team that developed the company’s first e-commerce presence. As co-founder of Selerix, Mr. Griffin has overseen development of one of the most comprehensive solutions for benefit enrollment and worksite marketing. Mr. Griffin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1984.
Pavel Peker, Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Peker has worked on the development of scalable systems for financial services for over 12 years. As a key member of the development team for Zebu/ SelectTech, Mr. Peker designed and implemented QuickView, a distributed system for tracking pending application information for brokers, carriers, and service providers. At SelectQuote, Mr. Peker was an architect and lead developer of several key systems, including SelectQuote’s advanced quotation system and SelectQuote.com. Since co-founding Selerix, Mr. Peker has led all aspects of architecture, design, and implementation of the systems developed by the company. Mr. Peker received his Masters degree in Computer Science from the State University of Belarus in 1995.
Craig Stephens, Vice President of Sales. Mr. Stephens joined Selerix in September 2007 and comes to the company with over 20 years of experience from the health care industry. Prior to joining Selerix, Mr. Stephens spent 11 years with Express Scripts, a leading pharmacy benefit management company. As Regional Sales Director in the West Region for Express Scripts, Mr. Stephens’ responsibilities included new business development with third-party administrators, brokers, and consultants within a 4-state region. As Regional Vice President of Sales for CuraScript, an Express Scripts specialty pharmacy, Mr. Stephens oversaw sales and new business development for Express Scripts commercial clients. Prior to joining Express Scripts, Craig helped establish two early-stage home health companies in the Dallas area. Craig earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in 1985.
Michael Foley, Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Foley officially joined Selerix in January 2015. Over a decade ago Mr. Foley outlined the Benefit Selection enrollment software specifications. In 2002 Mr. Foley joined Marsh U.S. Consumer (now Mercer Voluntary Benefits) as a Client Executive; his focus was on the implementation and development of all aspects of client’s voluntary benefit programs. His program management responsibilities include financial stability, employee program satisfaction, efficient operations, and more. Mr. Foley has actively participated in the evolution of the voluntary benefits during his 30 years in the benefits industry and 23 years with Marsh. He has held positions in marketing, sales and client management for Marsh, and served as President of Westport Benefits and Eastbridge Technology (ETI). His accomplishments include the development of COBRA Administration services; the development and management of Westport Benefits, a third party administrator, for self-funded medical plans and voluntary benefits; and developed the initial specifications for Selerix’s BenSelect enrollment system. Mr. Foley received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame in 1977.
Ruthie Gray, Vice President of Product Management. Ms. Gray joined Selerix in 2009 first as an Implementation Specialist and then as a senior team leader in the Professional Services department. In early 2012 Ms. Gray began a training initiative at Selerix which resulted in both on-line and on-site training offerings. In her current role she has oversight of Voluntary Product Development, Systems Integration, Training/Curriculum, as well as the direction of software releases, both Hotfixes and scheduled releases. Prior to joining Selerix she worked as an applications developer for Electronic Data Systems and Landmark Graphics, a subsidiary of Halliburton. Ms. Gray received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993.
Paula Kapavik, Vice President of Service Operations. Ms. Kapavik joined Selerix in July 2015 and comes to the company with over 30 years of experience in the insurance business. Prior to joining Selerix, Ms. Kapavik spent 31 years at Texas Life Insurance Company, in a career that encompassed finance, sales, and operations. As Vice President of Sales Operations, Ms. Kapavik’s responsibilities included case implementation, customer retention, new business, and sales relations. Prior to that position, she was the National Sales Director recruiting and working with brokers and enrollment companies across the U.S. Ms. Kapavik received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Steve Olivas, Director of Marketing. Mr. Olivas joined Selerix in 2012 as a Client Relationship Manager and then transitioned into the role of Director of Customer Experience. In early 2014, Mr. Olivas managed a team of Relationship Managers while constructing several internal/external user-based research initiatives. In coordination with the Selerix Development team, these initiatives resulted in several significant usability/interface improvements. In his current role, he is responsible for: brand strategy, marketing campaigns, social media initiatives, and ensuring these components align with the organization’s short and long term objectives. Prior to joining Selerix he worked as a Senior Analyst for Mercer where he was assigned to one of the company’s largest active accounts. Mr. Olivas received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Texas in 2007.
Viachaslau Shauliuk, Director of Engineering. Mr. Shauliuk joined Selerix in 2009 as a Senior Software Engineer. By 2014, he became a key member of the software engineering team and transitioned into the role of Software Architect – responsible for architecture, design and implementation of major system components. In 2015, he took the role of Director of Engineering managing and leading software engineers and quality assurance staff within the engineering department. Prior to joining Selerix, Mr. Shauliuk worked as Senior Software Engineer for ITBelcom leading a team of developers and providing software development outsourcing services to companies including Selerix. Mr. Shauliuk earned his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Belarusian State University.
